The 2012 San Francisco Overnight Walk Was a Success

Another Successful Overnight Walk Brings Us Closer to A World Without Suicide

The 2012 Overnight Walk for Suicide Prevention

The streets of San Francisco came alive on the night of June 9th into the early morning hours of the 10th as the Survivor community banded together once more to share stories, hope, and an experience for the annual Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk.

More than 2,000 Walkers came together at Fort Mason to support of the Overnight Walk and to stand up together to help put an end to suicide and to remember their loved ones, and nearly $2.4 million has been raised to date in support of this monumental effort.

One Unforgettable Night

The amazing Survivor Community that supported the Overnight Walk this year is the main reason for the success of the event and the passion and inspiration that the Walkers give to one another created an atmosphere like no other as they encouraged one another throughout the night.

Throughout the 2012 Overnight stories were shared, hugs given, and hope imparted from the group as a whole and we were all left with a profound sense of accomplishment not only for the physical feats accomplished by so many, but by the dedication and resolve of a community from across the country.

We hope that all who attended this special San Francisco Overnight event had an incredible experience and were able to connect and share with others and form new relationships that will help heal and give comfort.
