Did you know that AFSP has activities locally
throughout the year in almost all regions of the country?
Many of our Overnight
Walkers, Crew Members, and Volunteers get involved in the Overnight and
discover that AFSP also has a local presence in their area. If you would like
to stay involved with AFSP and the Survivor Community throughout the year,
there are usually ways for you to do that locally as well.
AFSP currently has 54 local
Chapters spread out around the country and has a local presence that often
spreads quite a distance beyond the Chapter area itself. Whether you are in New York or San Francisco ,
Minnesota or Arizona , there is likely a local AFSP
Chapter near you.
The local Chapters are
almost entirely Volunteer driven and rely on the help of people in their
respective communities to help with organizing Community Walks and events,
helping with outreach, and spreading the word. If you would like to be involved
with AFSP in your area, contact
your local Chapter today.
Events in Your Area
AFSP Chapters have events
throughout the year, most notably the local Out of
the Darkness Community Walks and the National Survivors
of Suicide Day broadcast conference. These events are a great way for
Survivors and supporters of AFSP to come together and use their shared
experience in an effort to help facilitate healing and community.
You local Chapter can also
help if you are looking for local resources and support services or would like
to undergo our Facilitator
Training or other programs.
