Superheroes in San Francisco?

Crew Members Liven Up the Night for Overnight Walkers

Did anyone expect to see Space Ghost at the Overnight Walk?

At about the 9 mile mark of the San Francisco Overnight, while tired and hungry and coming into the night’s Midnight Snack area, Walkers were expecting to feed their bodies but were also treated to feeding their spirits by one of the many Crew Teams that dressed in themed costumes for the 2012 Overnight.

The Midnight Snack Team made an impression this year in San Francisco as Superheroes and entertained and lifted tired spirits while they passed out meals to Walkers at the Caltrain station. With Space Ghost and caped crusaders helping feed the crowd, Walkers were able to relax and take a much deserved break while commiserating and preparing for the last half of their journey.

Angels and Muppets and More

And the Superheroes weren’t the only ones out to lighten the mood while encouraging Walkers along the route. The Angels on the Bike Safety Crew Team were a hit as well with their angelic wings, fluffy tutus, and haloed heads as they rode alongside the route and kept Walkers safe throughout the night.

Also on hand to help keep everyone safe and on-route during the night were the Moto Safety Crew Team as the Muppets with ears, fur, and smiling faces done up in their favorite Muppets characters while blocking intersections and directing traffic throughout the city.

A Thank You from Walkers to Crew

Safety Crew Teams at the Overnight Walk
The enthusiasm is always a big part of the crew’s presence on-event at the Overnight Walk and many Walkers tell us year after year that their drive to keep pushing forward comes in large part to these colorful Crew Teams and their infectious spirit.

A big “Thank You” once again from all of our Overnight Family to the enthusiasm and dedication of our Crew!
