The 2013 Overnight Walk Is Closer Than You Think
The 2013 Overnight Walk
itself is still several months away, but the planning has already begun for
many of our recurring teams and they will tell you that it is never too soon to
start planning for your team’s fundraising and event details.
Many of the Overnight’s
Teams are already making preparations for fundraising events later in the year.
Get Started Early
Planning a few details with
your team early on will help make things simpler in the long run for your whole
Overnight experience and will help you get to your fundraising goals without a
problem and without much worry or stress.
A few tips for starting
early:
Gather Your Team – Start talking to those team members that joined you last year and also
to those that expressed interest in being part of the team that may not have
participated. Many people feel the need to start on their planning very early
to give themselves ample time, so maybe this is the perfect time to remind them
that the Overnight is coming again in several months.
Make an Individual Plan – Start making at least a rough idea of the people that
you would like to ask for donations, the timing and stages of your requests,
and the goal that you would like to set for yourself.
Start Thinking About Team Events – If your team would like to do a team fundraising
event such as a restaurant night or game night, now is the perfect time to start
exploring how and when you all might like to do one. Get ideas together early
and you will not feel rushed to get it set up later.
Travel Arrangements – If you are coming to join us for the 2013 Overnight
Walk from another area, start thinking about travel arrangements early. We’ll
let you know just as soon as we can about any special hotel and airline
considerations, but in general terms the earlier you book your travel the more
economical it will be.
As always, if you have any
questions at all about this year’s 2013 Overnight or would like help planning
or setting things up with your team you can always call us at 888-THE-OVERNIGHT or email us at coaches@theovernight.org .
