Join an Open Team Today

Open Teams are the best way for Overnight Walkers to feel connected to the Overnight Event. They are a great way for solo walkers (those walking without a team)  to train, fundraise, or socialize as a group (often in the same area) with a shared experience. These teams are led by team captains that are either alumni walkers or first time walkers just like you. Being part of a team will give you an instant community to be a part of. We have teams that were formed because of a common reason for walking and/or geographical location.

Why should you join or create an open team? Read more:

  •  Teams act as a built-in support system
  • Questions/concerns can be easily addressed
  • Walkers who are part of a team raise more money!
  • In 2013, our teams raised a total of 1.8 million
  • On average, our walkers who were part of a team raised about 300 more dollars than walkers who were not on a team
Many of our teams that are formed around specific reasons for participation have grown each year and have created friendships amongst participants that would otherwise have been strangers. These teams really help individual Walkers who are new to the Overnight get a feel for the event, have resources for fundraising and training tips, and help get you involved in the community leading up to the Overnight.
